Was Christmas invented just to make us miserable?

My darling Woody I wish you could come over and spend Christmas with my family and myself...I experienced one Christmas feeling lonely, many years ago and I still haven't forgotten it,,it was awfull..How about going out to a community organised christmas lunch..
