A manufactured home isn't necessarily the best deal. You definitely want to own the land or you won't be any money ahead by paying space rent. If your credit isn't bad and you have some money saved for a down payment you should be able to get something. In our area there a a couple of builders that offer packages that work out to be a better deal than manufactured homes. Adair homes is one of the ones that comes to my mind. I don't know what areas they cover, but there might be something similar in your area.
