Camcorder saying 'lens cap'.?

A camcorder cannot actually tell if the lens cap is on but it umes it is if it is picking up nothing but black. Make sure you're trying to use the camera in a well lit area and if it still can't pick anything up then it's most likely an internal problem with the camera.
